Share Market Close: Sensex recovers 622 pts from day’s low but ends in red; Nifty at 23,398

Stock Market Highlights on Friday, Sept 11, 2026: Despite global equities’ weakness, the benchmark indices recovered from the day’s lows, led by gains in IT, FMCG, and banking companies.

The Sensex slid 120.83 points, or 0.16 percent, to 74,781.76, while the Nifty50 dropped 79.70 points, or 0.34 percent, to 23,398.10.

The top gainers in the Nifty50 index were Hindalco Industries, JSW Steel, and Tata Steel.

In the broader market, the Nifty MidCap and Nifty SmallCap lost 0.26% and 0.58%, respectively.

Nifty Realty and Nifty Metal suffered the largest declines, while Nifty Private Bank and Nifty IT experienced the greatest gains.
